We spray painted metal towers and covered shelves with white wood grain contact paper to lighten up this dark set. Quite easy to put together with two people with half stands propped on ottoman. Did put together top and bottom with holes facing wrong way and had to remove and flip one bottom tower so that joining screws found holes. Very wobbly and definitely anchored to wall on either side. I like the design. For anyone that has books or dvd's it maybe hard for them to prop up alone without support. Only issues is the packers at the warehouse or manufacture packed it with scuffs in the black paint on multiple parts. I tried to hide them toward the back side. I would send it back for a replacement but Wayfair charges for shipping it back to the price of the item. The carriers beat up the package during transit for sure. Note, this took quite some time for my spouse and I to put together and in the future I'd just hired Taskrabbit for 50 bucks to do it. I'll say, putting this together myself was a TO DO -- it took several hours for me, but got it done and I love the way it looks. The modular build makes it very easy to make changes if you want to how you put it together ... the metal and the shelves feel solid. It's the perfect size for my room.
