It apprears to be a manufactureing or shipping issue. On top of that, the shipping was delayed, which made the wait frustrating. I hope the seller improves on both fronts. I was pleased to receive these and not have to put anything together. I ordered these specifically for my desk in the spare room and an extra chair in the living area. I really like the color and size of the chair; height of the seat is 16", but you sink down ~1" through the braided material. It starts to become a little uncomfortable if you remain seated for greater than a couple hour stretch due to the lack of seat stability, but for a dining room chair it would be perfect. However, I did have to ship back the broken chair myself, which would be much more convenient if they could just pick it up when delivering the new chair like most other delivery companies do these days..
