This is great! The ladder is sanded very smooth and soft, no additional sanding required. Ladder is difficult to assemble, as in awkward. You will need someone to hold things and fiddle with it with you. The rail was super easy, and the metal pieces are pretty substantial. My only complaint is that one of the screw heads sheared off, so now I don't have support there, but the hassle of trying to tap it out has prevented me from dealing with it unless I have to. This is actually super cool! The people who left bad reviews didn’t read the description of what they were getting. When I was unboxing the pieces my guy said “This thing is legit! That’s 14” steel!” It is very sturdy and perfectly fit my 16 foot shelf! You build you own ladder (see mine made from 2x4’s in my pics) so you can make it any height you like. I knew this item was only the rail system and hardware and that it did not come with the actual ladder. My issue is with how the listing description was presented. The size ordering was wildly confusing leaving me unsure what size to order. I ultimately interpreted it wrong and now the system is too short to use in my library. Lots of pieces and it took some time to put it together, that being said it seems solid. I will be using it for my attic space so I will only use it a handful of times a year. Not sure how it would hold up using it daily. But I like using this much better than getting my stepladder out every time I go up there.
