I purchased the 3-shelf size, 36" H X 48" wide. It holds my entire cookbook collection and does double duty as a divider between the foyer and kitchen/dining area. Beautiful, heavy wood in the mission style. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the backing. I wish furniture manufacturers would stop to consider that not every piece of furniture is going to be put against a wall, so it would be nice to have a decent backing. The back of this bookcase is some sort of shiny, vinyl covered panel and the color is awful. Maybe it was meant to be faux marble, but they missed by a mile. The bookcase itself is very nice, but some holes didn't line up when putting it together. Also the top portion and the bottom portion do not line up flush across the front. I only deed the 2 shelf bookcase. It was fairly easy to put together. The instructions were clear. I was able to put it together by myself in about an hour. It looks nice. The only thing I don’t like about it is that it is particle board with a sort of paper veneer, almost like Contac paper. Well to be perfectly honest, the delivery team was fantastic! They arrived as they indicated, they were, friendly, courteous, and ever so efficient. The bookcase arrived early enough to have placed all necessary items on the shelves long before the noon hour. However, once the packaging was removed, the bookcase put in its proper place the matter of how to remove the wood wedges (placed on the left and right sides) holding the shelves in place became the major obstacle of frustration. It's like getting in your car to take a drive, you open the door, take a seat, put the key in the ignition, turn the key or push the button and nothing happens, looking at the gas gauge, you realize you have no gas. Went online to your website, located the item page, found there were instructions on how to remove the wedges. It’s like being stranded in the desert with no water and no camel. Just two negatives - I wish I could remove the nubs (that join the units together) on the top unit, and the company sticker on the unit was a bear to get off - I don’t know why companies put them on the unit like that! I’m really impressed with this 2-tier bookcase with drawer! Assembly was very easy, and once put together, it feels extremely sturdy and well-made. What really stood out to me is the drawer. I’ve purchased furniture from other companies where the drawers can feel wobbly, loose, or just not very well constructed. That is definitely not the case with this one!
