My condo has french doors in the living room and one bedroom. Even with blinds, the east morning sun heats up the entire unit, taking it all day to cool down. I have been able to lower my thermostat an average of about 2-3 degrees during the day since applying the film and I no longer have to keep the blinds closed tight all day. Surprisingly, it didnt make my room seem dark. The photo above shows the doors with film on the right side only and you can see it doesnt darken the room much. My husband and I recently renovated our home and needed new doorstops. This product matched our door hardware perfectly and has a solid, high-quality feel. The matte black finish looks great. We ordered two; one installed and aligned perfectly with the door’s push-button lock. The second was installed slightly off, which caused the lock to engage when the door contacted the stopper. Proper alignment is critical—precise measurement is required to ensure compatibility with push-button locks. Rather than reinstalling the mount, we adjusted the rubber center, which is removable, to prevent the issue. Installation may require some handiness and proper tools, but overall, we are very satisfied with the appearance and would purchase again. Four stars due to requiring precise measurement. These window sash pin locks are constructed of steel and come in a brass plated finish. This lock features a slotted locking pin and a pin remover key which are used to lock horizontal and vertical sliding windows in a closed or ventilating position. These types of sash pin locks are designed for use on wood sash windows.

The pins seem very solid, and I like they provide several keys. Once you drill the hole and place the pin more or less flush, someone from the outside will not be able to open the window (previously they used a crowbar to pull the screws out of the latch, now they would have to break the window to get it open). From outside you can’t tell the pin is inserted, so a burglar will be clueless what is stopping them from opening the window. Then even if somehow they knew about the pin, it is very difficult to get the pin out without the key (so keep it handy for yourself when you want to open the window).
