Dresser is great and was easy to put together all by myself. It did take a little longer than the 30 minutes the instructions said but probably could have been done if I had a second person. This chest is cute and looks great once assembled, but putting it together was definitely more difficult and time-consuming than expected. My biggest complaint is the drawer system. For safety, it only allows one drawer to be open at a time, which sounds nice in theory but is frustrating in everyday use. The drawers are very picky—you have to push a drawer completely closed, often with more force than should be necessary, before another drawer will open. If it’s even slightly out of place, the other drawers lock up. After using it for a while, this feature has become more annoying than helpful. For an inexpensive piece of build it yourself furniture, this is great! It’s a combo of balsam wood and MDF, using similar hardware to big box flat pack furniture. It was easy to assemble with two people and it took us about 90 mins. The instructions were clear and all the parts were there. Once put together, only a millimeter here or there on an odd drawer that wasn’t 100% perfectly aligned but it’s hardly noticeable. The drawers don’t glide perfectly straight (not terribly bad) but they do have easy movement so they do kind of slam if you’re used to slow-closing drawers haha! It’s quite sturdy and looks quite pretty and cute in the room and fits quite a lot inside! For anyone who is sensitive to chemical smells, this dresser doesn’t have a strong odor but it does smell like MDF. The packing materials are styrofoam which is diabolical but it kept the furniture safe when it was banged up in transit. Absolutely beautiful! Great size. We wanted our bed to be a bit taller in general so we added a basic box spring and it’s perfect. Bought two of these. Be prepared to take a while to put together. First one went together fine. The second was a nightmare.
