It was easy to add this fan to a location where a porch light was no longer needed. I purchased a 3 way switch and connected inside so that we can change the speed with a wall switch. It is very comparable in sound and pressure to the same desk top fan that I use in my bedroom. I ordered 2 of these ceiling fan controls, which arrived damage free, in a timely manner. It was easy to pop out the old controls and install these using my existing wiring. My only complaint is that these say ‘HUNTER’ across the front of the knob, which I didn’t notice in the photos.
