First off, this gate does come with the hardware needed to attach it to posts or whatever you need. The description wasn't very clear on that, but calling Wayfair Support before purchasing assured me that was the case. Second, we haven't installed it yet because our contractor is building our fence and this will be the last step. Third... and I probably should have started with this, the assembly instructions leave A LOT to be desired. It took me and my husband nearly two hours to put together. The instructions did not say how many of each part we were supposed to have so out of the gate (no pun intended), and just had to start and assume we had everything we needed. Fortunately all parts were there. But there was no way to know that when we started. Then the instructions we're not very clear AT ALL and we have a couple of failed attempt where it became clear we did something wrong and had to pull things off and start again. We're both fairly handy and have assembled plenty of things in the past, so it wasn't operator error. Things didn't fit together easily either and you definitely need a rubber mallet to pound some things into place. It would have been way easier to assemble if they instructions had been more accurate and clear. Fortunately we didn't put the glue on it as it said to do at the beginning, otherwise we would have been really angry having to wipe it off and start again. Lastly, it does look good so far. Photos are leaning up against our garage door. We got the 5 foot wide version. Hopefully our contractor will have an easier time assembling and attaching the gate mechanisms and hinges/latches.. The larger and sturdier 3” x 3” vertical posts provide much greater stability than the much smaller posts that other brands use. Each panel measures 48” x 48” and both panels can be connected at right angles to each other, creating an “L” shape around the large privacy area. The 3 included galvanized steel stakes are each 19.7” long, providing 11.8” of depth to create a strong and stable support for the structure. These are attached with color-matched stainless steel self-tapping screws. Also included are 4 “U-channel” pieces that cap the top and bottom of the horizontal slats, for an even more enhanced appearance. Assembly is very quick and intuitive with clearly understandable instructions. Each package contains 3 galvanized steel stakes, 3 each of the 3” x 3” posts with caps, 16 horizontal slats, 4 u-channel pieces as well as all the necessary hardware to assemble. This product is designed to be used on a surface that will accommodate use of the metal stakes, it is not intended to be used on hard surfaces such as concrete pads or wood decks.
