Vintage Nutone Kitchen Wall Exhaust Fans

Maximize the air and sound performance of your Broan ventilation fan or range hood using one of our wide variety of ducting accessories. The overall size showing on the surface is 9" square with a 5-1/2" hood and a 1-1/4" long attachment collar for 6" round ductwork ( not for use with dryer venting ). Equipped with a spring-loaded backdraft damper and bird screen to keep nests and small animals on the outside. The wall cap is made of 22 gauge crack steel construction with a black electrically-bonded epoxy finish for durability and long life. Sold as 1 to a carton.

This was the only vent cap that I could find with 6" round ducting, for use with my Air Exchanger input. Although it worked, with some difficulty and modification, I wish it were made of plastic instead of heavy duty aluminum. The Broan line of make-up air dampers removes the unnecessary energy cost penalty from the equation. Broan Make-Up Air Dampers operate only when it is necessary to let compensation air into the home. This is accomplished by the SmartSense fans and/or selected BEST or Broan range hoods communicating with the Broan Make-Up Air Damper when it is time to open and let compensation air into the home.

Purchased this during a kitchen remodel when we determined that we needed a make-up air duct. We had purchased a Thermador Hood for our kitchen when we realized it likely was going to pull out to negative pressure in the home. This has worked great with the pressure switch that automatically opens the damper when the pressure builds in duct. Only had a problem with the pressure sensor on install, found out quickly from tech support that it can only be mounted upright, we had not.
