It has more style with the sliding drawers, costs a lot less, but did not come with a separate file cabinet like the 1st, but do not need it as this one has 2 file drawers. And the best part, is it has a electric recepitcal on the top of the desk for a lamp or another appliance if needed. And it fits in my ensuite walk-in closet (which is my little craft room). Great desk for a 9 year old. The drawers are fabric, the top one doesn't go in all the way because of the bar in the back. The two sections are held together with 2 wood pegs and isn't very sturdy and leaves a small gap. Our fabric drawers came really dirty. It was easy to put together and works as a nice first desk..
