Ok, giving this 4.5 stars for aesthetic and solid wood frame. HOWEVER, please be cautioned There were some dings and splintering that are fortunately hidden after assembly with one acception. The assembly itself self took 2.5 hrs with a couple sanity breaks. Each spindled piece has an item sticker that would be visible and thus needed removal. I ruined my nails and spent 10x as long removing stickers and the glue as I did putting the head and footboard together. After FINALLY getting this bed put together, I almost cried contemplating the labor intensive deconstruction that would be required to take it out of the room. This project is not for the faint of heart. It is, indeed, a project. I would not deduct stars as paying for assembly is an option. Also, an oversight on my part, but the bedframe will not house a mattress and box spring, only a mattress. My biggest frustration was the assembly, and second the blemishes on the frame. This bed is very cute, but earns a four for the way it goes together. Not the sturdiest design on the center join where two frame pieces meet in the middle. It's adequate, but could be designed better. The design side of the footboard should face toward the room and not to the interior of the bed. The three holes were pre-drilled on the non-decorative side so if you flip it, there are only two holes and not a space for the peg that serves as a place-holder while joining the footboard to the rail so it is more difficult to assemble. The head and tail of the bed are all designed with tufting, which has a beautiful appearance. It also has a charging port and a led strip, which is very practical. I recently purchased the Ophelia Solid Wood Platform Bed in the Chalk finish (King size) and I couldn’t be happier. This bed is everything I wanted and more. The chalk color is beautiful — it has that perfect weathered, driftwood look with subtle white undertones that make the natural wood grain pop without looking too gray or too brown. The canopy bed is beautiful and was easy to assemble. The instructions included are accurate and easy to follow. I only knocked a star off because the top and bottom "F" pieces did not screw in on the left side of the bed because the screw holes didn't align properly. I even tried turning them around, flipping them upside down and swapping the places of the 2 bars, to no avail. But I just left the bars slotted into the brackets and I think it will be ok..they are just not secured with screws on that side of the bed.
