I'm super delighted with this potting shed. We purchased it, in the 'natural' color, to use in our rec room as a china hutch. I was initially afraid that it would look too 'potting bench-ish' to be used as such. Once it was assembled, though, I found that it was even better than I had hoped. The existing wood in the rec room is a warm oak with a satin finish. The color of the potting shed was very much the same but with a matt finish. I fixed that by coating the wood with Howard's Feed-N-Wax wood polish and conditioner which not only gave the wood a slight sheen but deepened the color for an even better match with existing wood. NOTE 1: I originally, purchased two of these for the rec room based on measurements provided in the real estate listing for our new house. Once we got in the house, we found that, while I could fit both in the recroom, it gave the room a very crowded, over-stuffed look. So, we sent one back and kept one. Customer service was fabulous and the return was simple! NOTE 2: The assembly was time consuming even for my husband who is quite comfortable with wood working in general. But definitely worth it. This potting bench features a solid fir wood construction that is pre-sanded and weather-sealed for durability and rot resistance, supporting up to 150 pounds. It includes an extra transparent PVC layer that is easy to clean and prevents water leakage to keep the work surface dry. The bench is equipped with a quality plastic sink and lid designed for convenient soil mixing and safe plant potting. For storage, it offers a built-in cabinet drawer with two hooks for tools and essentials, along with a large lower shelf that can hold up to 100 pounds for soil and fertilizer.

This potting bench works perfectly for me. It fits well within the space and is quite sturdy. It took the assembler about 45 minutes to put it together on my back porch, where it is now. Originally, I was going to paint it black to match the trim on my home. However, the brownish/gray color actually kind of blends in. So I am leaving it and considering painting it after a couple of years to freshen it up, rather than right now when it's new. The little plastic sink unit is nice and easily comes out to fill and/or dump its contents. The drawer is nice for items you want near by but out of the weather. There is a pretty sturdy plastic cloth that fits on top to cover the items below and keep them dry. I would expect that it protects the wood, too. I am pleased with this purchase.. Dyanne.
