Was trying to find medium size bookcase for family room to match coffee and end table but was not having any luck..until I found the 36" by 38" Derren solid wood bookcase by Sand & Sable on Wayfair. I ordered the unfinished, stressed it, stained it and followed up with 3 coats poly for durability. I am so happy and feel proud that I was able to take on such a project!! It may not be an exact match but it definitely makes the room look cohesive. Arrived in timely manner, very well packaged and the instructions were very easy to read!! The bookcase is gorgeous from the quality of the wood to its appearance. I love how many books it cans hold and the shelving. It was not too difficult to install. Works for me, but I would have been really upset if I had paid full price. Majority of the pieces had some sort of damage that could have been solved with better packing. The backing is pretty flimsy and has really visible creases that I couldn't smooth out. I covered the back with wallpaper bc I thought it was cute. The laminate is pretty thin and seems to be easily damaged. Overall satisfied with it, but I would have preferred something a bit more elevated. Just hard to find a good balance of price and value.. Beautiful, heavy wood in the mission style. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the backing. I wish furniture manufacturers would stop to consider that not every piece of furniture is going to be put against a wall, so it would be nice to have a decent backing. The back of this bookcase is some sort of shiny, vinyl covered panel and the color is awful. Maybe it was meant to be faux marble, but they missed by a mile.
