I'm happy with the bunk bed. But my kids are ecstatic. They were celebrating it for like 30 minutes. And the best part is they sleep better now. Putting it together was as difficult as advertised and due to my fitness level, I was sore for days after. The instructions were thorough, though could have been better as some steps could be merged with later ones to make the construction easier to accomplish. And the slats portion could be improved significantly as some were shorter than others. Those steps also didn't convey that the position of each wasn't fixed. So I had to measure the bed frame and put marks down to ensure I did it evenly. I would have expected markings on the frame to indicate where the slats would go. We recently updated my mother's bedroom, and one of the biggest changes was purchasing this Twin over Full bunk bed that she had been wanting. Overall, we are very pleased with it. The bed is solid and sturdy for the price, and the color looks great in the room. Assembly wasn't particularly difficult, but there are a lot of pieces, so I recommend giving yourself plenty of space to organize everything before you start. We also added a few extra slats for additional mattress support, which worked out well. For the lower full-size bunk, we purchased the 9" Plush Cooling Gel Hybrid Mattress by Zinus, and it's been comfortable for her to sleep on. Daughter loves her bed! It seems pretty sturdy. The negatives for me are the side opposite of the desk is unfinished, it just has black backing on the side so it limits where the bed can be placed from an aesthetic perspective it basically has to be in a corner if you don’t want to see the black backing side.
