The small screws must enter their respective holes from the inside out—and follow the instrux exactly for where their corresponding screw-caps go (exterior vs. interior). Top came with small but noticeable damage (I was able to request a replacement piece). The rotating top is also a little wobbly considering the price. The two compartments on the top lift up to open but sadly they do not lock in place to remain open, which could be a little inconvenient but there is a slow close on it so it does not slam closed. **TIP** there is a piece that covers the top so you can possibly sit items up there that is probably some type of mdf board and it probably blends in with the packaging and mine was thrown out, so just be mindful and ask for that piece.
