I searched for a reasonably priced white desk that was balanced even on both sides. Some had drawers on 1 side just a skinny panel or leg for the other side. This one was even and simple clean look. I like the file cabinet drawers are useful good size drawers to use. The middle drawer is a little small, but lots of space for your child to use. The file cabinet (5 drawers) is also detachable if you want to use it for something else like a night stand. I wanted the desk balanced. I wish it was real wood, but I also didnt pay for real wood. We just moved into a brand new house so I'm needing a LOT of furniture some of which comes from Wayfair. Putting together this desk definitely needs two people. It took approximately 6 hours and the instructions were pretty clear, all in English. If you don't mind the drawers feeling like cardboard, it's a great deal. It is sturdy and practical.
