The trunk is a beautiful piece of sturdy solid wood. I purchased it because it has the black metal legs and front handle that complements my current industrial bedroom furniture. Only four stars because it arrived damaged in two places. One at the left hinge attachment to the wood trunk, the other is a split in the wood on the right side of the trunk where the leg attaches. We were able to nail the wooden block into place to attach the metal leg securely and hopefully prevent further splintering. The quality control needs to be in place for both the preparation of the furniture for shipment AND ensuring the shipper HANDLES THE FURNITURE WITH CARE DURING SHIPMENT. I noticed when adding supplies that the drawers don’t have anything to keep them from coming all the way out out when opening. So I’ll just have to be careful with that. This trunk is the perfect coffee table piece! I’m awaiting two leather club chairs, so I’m not quite finished in the area. But I just moved in and do not have enough storage. This held 15 years worth of photo albums. And still is able to shift location with the handles. Not flimsy at all.
