These curtains are beautiful and beautifully sewn. I was a bit leery because they were listed as velvet. I would call them “brushed”, which I really like. They ironed out nicely on the backside with a little steam. I’m using rings with clips instead of the rod pocket. As far as room darkening, well I’m using them in my living room. They are somewhere between light filtering and room darkening. I’d be good with them in my bedroom. If you like “dark” I’m not sure you’ll be happy with these.
