This was the stupidest assembly. Add me into some of the stupid. The directions said it will come in two boxes. By step 3 I can see that piece #6 doesn't touch the ground. But I had all the pieces so I kept assembling hoping it would somehow anchor. No. It was wobbly when I finished. And it seems complete. So what's in the other box? Longer #6. Why were there short parts in the first place?! Another hour later and I've reassembled with the longer pieces. It's a sturdy bed now. But wth. Is a cute bed. Its easy to put together, and I like that the trundle raises to become a queen sized bed. The downside is that the hardware doesnt match the white bed, so ends dont look great. This bed needs to be tucked into a space when both ends are facing a wall, or both ends are covered in stone way. The finials (the globe pieces on the head and foot rests) are also problematic. Once you put them on, do not try to take them off again, or they will just wobble there. There is absolutely no way to tighten them or remove them once they are installed. Did a lot of research on daybeds, and this one checked off a lot of what I needed. This one can hold a good amount of weight vs. others, plus it takes 8in matress vs. 5 or 6. It also pops all the way up so it can be used as a split king. I scanned lots of reviews on others looking for one that I could use a 10in matress since adults would be using at times. I took a chance off others reviews and went with a 10in mattress, and it paid off. This bed works great with the 10in mattresses. I have just enough clearance, and the bed pulls out easily. We dont have carpet, so I dont know how that would play a role with pull out. Have not used as a split king yet but did by a bridge and velcro straps to secure the beds together just in case. Could see the weld marks but feels sturdy and comfortable and was easy to set up. Would have loved if it had the auto pop up but can be set up by one with just a little work.. Anonymous. Indiana.
