These are really sturdy. The legs are wood but they have two metal square pieces that support the legs. Seats are super comfortable. The stools were packaged well and are very sturdy. They are very stiff and not as wide at the seat as I thought they would be. We ran into an issue where the seats had some staining on them due to the silica packets, getting damp and rubbing on the tag that was maroon, which caused it to get on the fabric. I called Wayfair that night, while we were putting together the stools and noticed the staining, and the gentleman that helped me couldn't have been any kinder or more thorough with getting my information. He gave my information to the manufacturer, and they took care of me right away and we very easily I came to a solution. These are great and very comfortable! If I had one criticism it would be to ignore the instructions when it says to tighten the legs to the foot rail to 100%. Definitely put all screws in (legs to seat and legs to foot rail) at 50%, then align and tighten the legs to the seat to 100% BEFORE you tighten the foot rail..otherwise you will not be able to align the chair legs in a way that minimizes the gaps between the parts, creating pinch points for fingers when scooting in your chair.
