This is a useful design choice however, applying the same connection system to the ottomans would have made alternative sectional layouts much more stable and practical. For the price we paid I am very happy with it. Assembly took approximately 1 hour, its a very soft couch. Not firm at all, low back which is a non issue if youre having it against a wall.
