This is a handcrafted hollow fireplace mantel. Our mantels are hand-made with love and passion. These mantels are as beautiful as they are useful, robust, light, and elegant. The distressed look is achieved by hand with attention to detail. As a result, no two beams are the same and your beam will be one-of-a-kind. Dimensions may vary slightly from selected, due to the nature of the wood and the time effect on it. We use pine boards for our distressed mantels. The final product might appear a bit lighter or darker because of the lighting and nature of the wood.

Absolutely love these shelves!! We need the perfect something for the kitchen wall that had no cabinets and these shelves were definitely it. Perfect size and fit for what we wanted. I was concerned about the weight of this floating shelf. It seemed strange to mount something so heavy to a wall since most of the items I will display on it won't weigh as much as the shelf on its own. There is a metal mounting bracket that you at first mount on the wall using the included screws. I had to screw holes in this bracket to match the width of the studs in the wall I planned to mount it to. Once the bracket was mounted on the wall, the shelf slides onto the lip easily. I am using this shelf as a makeshift mantel. The shelf is quite heavy and it feels like petrified wood. Overall it is a very attractive shelf and makes for an attractive fireplace mantel.. Richard. You will see nail holes, screw holes, nails, discoloration, scratches, dents, and many other variations. Each of these markings is a glimpse into the history of your shelves. You may see holes from a mortise and tenon joint or other time-honored wood joining techniques. You may notice where a hinge or hook is used to hang. No two pieces of wood are the same - that is what makes these shelves so special! They are one of a kind. Solid wood rustic farmhouse mantel shelf. These rustic shelves are made from solid wood beams. They have original saw markings, nail holes, and knots. These solid wood rustic shelves give you a rough-cut look while a unique sanding process gives them a nice clean finish. These Mantel/Shelves will look great above your fireplace or as a showpiece shelf hung on the wall. Farmhouse shelves will fit right in with the decor in your home. Mounting hardware is not included. Mounting should be done according to the wall construction wherever the mantel is displayed. All mantel shelves are 2.75"- 3" thick and 7.5"- 8" wide.
