Overall, I absolutely love this desk! It did arrive with a few minor issues that Wayfair rectified. This is a solid piece of furniture. I would definitely recommend paying for the delivery and setup. The two compartments on the top lift up to open but sadly they do not lock in place to remain open, which could be a little inconvenient but there is a slow close on it so it does not slam closed. **TIP** there is a piece that covers the top so you can possibly sit items up there that is probably some type of mdf board and it probably blends in with the packaging and mine was thrown out, so just be mindful and ask for that piece. These were slightly overpriced, in my opinion, but ultimately exactly what we needed--we had a height restriction, as well as a desired depth--and are serving us nicely. Assembly note: you have to drill holes in the doors, for the hinges, and I was a little worried that was going to lead to issues, but it worked out fine...I didn't have to adjust the doors at all, really (maybe I got lucky). Otherwise, these look great and do their job admirably! (tip: I used some of the cardboard from the box to support them on the carpet...without it, they weren't sitting quite straight / evenly).
