Tuned to beautiful melodies and scales from around the world and available in a wide range of styles, songs, and sizes, you can choose the Woodstock Chime that speaks to your soul. How it all began. Garry and his wife Diane founded Woodstock Chimes / Woodstock Percussion, in 1979 and it remains based in New York's Hudson Valley. GRAMMY Award-winning musician Garry Kvistad created the first Woodstock Chime from an aluminum lawn chair he found in a landfill. As a professional musician and instrument designer, he was fascinated by the Scales of Olympos, a 7th-century pentatonic scale that can't be played on a modern piano. Garry had the idea to cut and tune the lawn chair chime tubes to the exact frequency of the ancient scale. The resulting Chimes of Olympos was the first Woodstock Chime and is still one of our best-selling wind chimes.

Bells have been used throughout the ages to accompany dance, provide comfort, and warn of possible danger. The Chinese were the first to control the pitch or note of a bell, making it possible for them to play tunes. Soon bells were being used to accompany worship. On New Year's Eve, the bells in Buddhist temples are rung 108 times, once for each of the 108 worldly desires. In the East, bells have become very important and are often decorated with significant symbols. For centuries, tuned bells have been suspended in homes and temples to ward off evil and attract good luck and prosperity. Temple Bells Wind Chime is inspired by these ancient bells and works in harmony with the wind to create gentle, soothing tones.

This steel ball has been coated with a handsome, durable finish, so you can enjoy it for years to come. Hang your Heroic Large Wind Chime in a breezy spot and let it play in the wind.

The Heroic Windbell™ Wind Chime is a very nice chime. Made with quality metal material and the sound of the chime is beautiful. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it is extremely heavy. I bought it to hang on a shepards hook by our pool but it is way too heavy. We will need to get a strong mounted hook to support its weight. Overall very happy because it is a uniquie item.. Bonny.
