This is an elegant, firm sofa that was easy to assemble solo, and this is not something I usually do. I did have a friend help me flip it up onto its legs after assembly. The box arrived really beat up, and I had misgivings as I was unwrapping, but the contents were protected. I have now had this sofa for over a year; I slept on it for three months while fostered cats and kittens took over my bedroom. It would work to use it as a daily bed, but it is VERY firm. The blue velvet fabric has held up nicely despite 2 cats (who fortunately, do not scratch it). I have received many compliments on it; it is the focal point of the sitting area. Looks great! A bit of a pain to assemble but I'm happy with the result. The storage space underneath the cushion is only covered by some thin wood slats knit together so I wouldn't trust falling down onto that cushion. There are no side cushions, so you’ll need to get some pillows if you want to lounge. Beautiful couch, but near impossible to slide the pieces together and I don’t usually have trouble! Got some muscle and finesse to help me, and we finally got! Then getting the seat screwed into place was also a challenge, but we finally got that too. I consider it a firm couch, but that’s the way I like it. Really like the height of the back and sides.
