I didn’t realize this has to be assembled, but it was pretty simple. I was able to assemble it by myself, granted it took me about 1 12 hours, but I’m sure others can do it faster. It’s much firmer than I expected BUT it is super soft and very comfortable! One question I had before purchasing was if it’s two separate pieces — it is not. It’s one piece so there isn’t a possibility of them sliding apart. Another question was if there is enough back support. I think so. Let me start by saying I'm so happy these arms even exist! I bought this great 3-section modular sofa which ended up being waaaaay to big for my actual living space. Decided to pull out the middle section and connected the two ends (each had an arm) to make a better-fitting, awesome sofa. The middle section had no arms and to make an extra chair and 1/2, it needed the arms. Once installed, the whole lounging experience in that new unexpected chair is just what it needed! Note: The install was a pain since the hole pattern is not even close, but I finally just attached the arms with a bunch of 4" wood screws and it's perfect <knowing that in advance will make the install easy and you will be stoked with your new chair..
