Solid, well-made, and most important, comfortable! You don't "sink into" the cushions, which while supportive, are not at all too hard in my view. At a certain age, "sinking into the cushions" poses a real challenge when you go to try to stand up. (Don't ask me how I know.) I decided on four stars only because the very nice leather has an intentional "mottled look," which isn't my favorite, but I'll get used to it. So much to love about this sofa: sturdy build, nice quality leather throughout, including the sides and back, warm classic color, styling to match just about anything, deep seating and back cushions that stay put with velcro. The leather on this couch has held up really well, but the “button” divot has popped out in a few areas. The couch is sturdy, but the arms are kind of high and hard to rest your head on.
