We are using this as a shoe cabinet. Wayfair calls it a bookshelf, but I don’t think I would ever recommend it for books — the shelves are not adjustable and are way too short for books. They are perfect for our shoes, though! Even our boots fit nicely on the taller shelves. I am giving four stars because the construction of the doors, though cute, is not very sturdy at all. If you have active pets or kids I think they’re likely to break easily. Hopefully ours hold up since it’s in an out of the way location in our home, but only time will tell. Not super easy to put together. Some of the holes where the Dow rods go were not drilled out all the way. This caused us to take heavy top piece off drill out the hole and reattach. So the putting it together aspect is not easy and you possibly have to take it apart to make things fit. This will be absolutely gorgeous when it is done. Because I tried to move it two pieces were damaged. I am waiting on the parts to come in. It is very heavy and will require two people to finish, although most of it can be done by one person. Do not try to move it by yourself, get the second person. This has beautiful doors, great sidecorner shelves, not dinky ones at all. The trim is very nice. The manufacturer and Wayfair were very quick to get me the parts I need and they are on the way. I am so glad for that. The instructions are very clear and all the parts are clearly listed. Again, do not try moving this alone, two people are necessary. The shelves are stationery but will hold many things. We like the added glass doors at the top, which make it a little nicer in appearance. I gave 4 stars because 1 of the tall doors came with only 2 holes bored for the hinges. So we had to wait for it to be replaced before we could finish. Wayfair is very fast to respond to damage or parts issue and they worked with the manufacturer to get the door replaced in just a few days! It did take 2 people to place the top of the unit onto the bottom half safely. This is a very nice piece and went together very well.
