After reading the reviews, I took a chance on these. The packing is not the greatest as they are pretty loose in the box, but thankfully, mine arrived unbroken. The manufacturer has changed the metal on the "spider" legs on the lamp shade to silver (from gold like other reviewers complained about) and the lucite bases were not off center as others mentioned. One of my shades was slightly dented. The lamps themselves are beautiful. The photos online are a very close representation. They are a great size for the nightstands next to my King bed and the color is a lovely light blue. I have one unusual observation and that is that the lamps make a tiny "ting" type of noise randomly. It isn't loud or often- some people might never notice it, but it is a little odd. They have been in my house close to a week and I would have thought they would have acclimated to both temperature and humidity. This seems to have nothing to do with the light being off or on.
