I love the island! It did take a long time to put together (for 1 woman with no power tools) but the directions were straightforward. There are A LOT of screws (48 just on the cabinet doors) so a power screw driver would save a lot of time. A second person would also be very helpful. It is heavy. It came in 2 boxes and took 45 minutes just to unpack and check the pieces. I spent about 4 hours each over 2 days. A second person could easily cut the time in half because they could split tasks, like building the drawers and putting hardware on cabinets doors while the other builds the base. Good basic island for a kitchen needing more counter and drawer space. Just like all the other reviews said, its incredibly short and about 6 inches shorter than our kitchen counters, so we plan to modify the legs to make it taller and maybe add doors to the bottom for extra cabinet space. The open shelving is very short, but nicely fits our dutch ovens and cast iron wok on display. I knew the measurements of the drawers ahead of time, so I knew Id need to configure my ziploc bags and things like tinfoil carefully, but they do in fact fit. Its nice having a junk drawer, tea drawer, and drawer for potholders and oven mitts. (I wouldnt recommend trying to use the drawers for spices as I dont think they would fit, and if they did it wouldnt fit many.) Shipping took a little over a week. The initial packages arrived with the top part damaged on the corner and a missing piece for assembly (I received two of something I only needed one of, and then zero of the piece necessary for completing the assembly), so I reached out to Wayfair customer service and they sent out the replacement pieces which took another week, but besides the inconvenience of delayed assembly it was a smooth process. All in all, Im happy with what I got for the price (380 after sale price and 15 off coupon). I wouldnt pay more than that given that none of it is real wood and assembly took me 2 hours even with an electric drill, but for the cost it looks nice in the space and functions well.. Savannah.
