Stained glass is handcrafted using the same technique that was developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany in the early 1900s. Glass types and colors are designed using metallic salts during manufacturing. Each piece of real glass is hand-cut and copper foil is wrapped around each individual piece. The glass pieces are then welded by hand to create one-of-a-kind designs. As part of the finishing process, oil is added to the outside of the design to protect the metal from erosion. The beauty of stained glass is its versatility when illuminated by light. Stained glass will become more vibrant when lit.

The quality of this light is very nice, however, the color of the blue and green glass is very dark compared to the picture. Victorian Handcrafted tiffany style pendant light, Stained glass dining room light lampshade is slight heavy than you expected, as it is made of real stained glass. But when you knock it, it sounds like plastic. That's why? Because of its special manufacturing process. Each glass piece is cut by hand, then polish the edge before wrapping the copper foil. The edges of the glass pieces are wrapped with adhesive copper tape (copper foil). Then putted together in a mould according to the pattern. At last, using soldering material to weld each glass at a very high temperature. The Stained glass is Much Heavy than Plastic, and couldn't been burned, normal knife couldn't cut them. Easy to Check it.

Pretty straightforward with the wiring. The stained glass is pretty but the fixture is quite small. I need to get a different bulb because the only extra one I have right now is too long and dips below the edge of the fixture. These finally did the trick after trying twice to get another 3 light kitchen island fixture. They’re very pretty and even though the size is not correct in the description where they note the shades are 5” x 5” and were instead 7.5” long, they still look great. I like the lamp. Need to get a different bulb. It is a bit smaller that I thought - or I should say I thought the leafs hung down more. The other weird thing but not a big deal on other hanging lamps I’ve had there was a chain or way to keep the cord from slipping I tied a knott but there should be a better or more attractive way. This a lovely designed island pendant, great for a game room, dining room, or bar. This piece features 370 pieces of handcut, stained art glass, each wrapped in a fine copper foil and soldered together at high heat. It is created using the same technique developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany in the early 1900's. Each shade is unique, and is sure to catch everyone's eye with it's gorgeous colors.
