Good purchase. I got these for the columns of the new portico we built for decorative purposes. They came quickly and are of good quality. I purchased the maple ones and they took the paint very nicely. Perfect for a cottage or farmhouse to add some charm. There are hanging bracket hardware on the back of each which would hang them in the vertical position....I liked the horizontal position for my application, so I had to face nail them to the columns....pre-drilled for the finishing nails and all went well, no splitting..
