Works excellent! Built it with a solar pump kit (SKU: W120104564 sold by Wayfair) and fountain runs 24/7 and only turns off when water gets low and the pump safety valve turns it off so it doesn’t burn out the motor. When screwing the fountain pieces together let the pieces find their groove on the threads so the fountain stays level and is not lopsided once all together. If converting to solar you will need to pop out the rubber gasket that is in the middle of the bottom tier of the fountain. Split the rubber gasket at the seam and remove the electrical cord for the included pump and replace it with the cord for the solar pump. Use GE 100% Silicone sealant to fill any gaps/ spaces in the center of rubber gasket/ plug, reseal the seam with silicone and spread silicone around the outer edge of the plug/ gasket and put it back in the base, let set for 24 hours before adding water. This solar fountain is made of lightweight and durable stone-grey polyresin and fiberglass and features a pineapple topper with two stacked basins. Water flows from the top pineapple into the central basin, which fills and then overflows into the largest bottom pool before circulating. This fountain operates via solar power or the battery. In bright sunlight, the panel powers the pump while the battery pack collects and stores a charge. When cloudy or nighttime, the battery pack will activate and power the unit; when fully charged, it can do so for as many as 4 hours. When the batteries are depleted, the system automatically attempts to draw power from the panel and will resume running once the sun come out.
