* UPDATE 10 days later: smell resolved and the pillows are very comfortable to use. It was worth the wait of airing them out for so long. So I received the pillows about 36 hours ago. They came out of the packaging and immediately started to fluff up on their own. But there was a very strong odor. According to instructions that should dissipate. I manually fluffed as per directions and put aside to air out. After the first 24 hours the pillow had filled out on its own. I did pat it down some more, and the strong odor has lessened, but there is still a bad smell that comes from them, where I know I wouldn't be able to sleep on it with that. I'm going to leave them for another couple of days and hope the smell goes away. Because they look and feel like they will be very comfortable. There is a horrible mildew/mold smell the moment you open them. Wayfair was amazing and tried replacing them with new ones but same horrid smell again! I didnt handle them a few seconds and my hands smelled so bad. I tried airing out the first set for days, it didnt help the smell at all and made my room stink. This cooling pillow is soft to the touch and does stay cool throughout the night. It is very comfortable to sleep with. I have had some luck with fluffing the pillow in the dryer, but it does go flat pretty easily with use. This is not a firm pillow.
