This door beautifully serves the need I had to separate a den from the dining room to provide overnight guests more privacy. It has a nice finish and is solid enough to provide a bit of sound deadening between the two rooms. My installer did note the lack of a dado cut in the door for the track, so he didn’t notice that a particular end should have been “up” - so I think he mounted it upside down (the door’s cross panel is about 5” deep on one end and 7” on the other). Not a big enough deal visually for me to have the door re-mounted, but an indicator for which end was intended to be the top of the door would have been nice. The door doesn’t come with handles but I was able to find finger flush-mount and loop handles that worked beautifully. The door is made solid enough to screw handles into it.. Caryn. Seattle, WA. Reasonably designed and built. - Door frame. The door frame leaves a bit to be desired. Very hard to mount drywall and baseboard and Door trim molding to because there's just not much realestate to run fasteners into. - Door. The door is incased with a Masonite shell. Under the Masonite, the sides are laminated solid wood. The top and bottom are softer masonite like material so, be careful when installing the hardware, this material can strip easy, no second changes. - Hardware. Overall is good though the soft close is a waste of time. Never could figure out how to mount the trigger bracket so, just felt off. - Primer finish.
