The dimensions are correct and it is a sturdy piece once you finally get it assembled. However if you don't like ugly silver screws showing all over the place both inside and outside this is not the piece for you. This is fairly sturdy once assembled. I appreciate the variety of storage options with this piece, that it can be used as a traditional bookcase with the top three shelves but also has closed storage with the drawer and the door ( which has a quite a lot of space inside)! 4 stars because the Walnut color is lighter than expected, and the faux wood grain hides the vertical panel detailing on the door and drawer..
