Ok, I know I’m not using these as your typical “kitchen mats”, but I meant to order black instead of grey, so I messed up. My kitchen is a mixture of “old world” Italian-ish colors …lovely greens, deep old reds, creams, tans, with lots of black accents, so I thought the black mats would be perfect. When I realized I’d gotten grey instead - and saw how insanely nice they are - I decided to use them on my enclosed balcony where I needed a bit of “edging coverage” at the doors anyway. Although this obviously isn’t the ideal place for them, these mats are extremely nice. They are indeed very thick, and they are SO comfortable to walk on. When I walk outside, they are so comfy on your feet that it feels like you’re stepping out onto a cloud! Love the color too since it matches my indoor/outdoor carpet. I hope to try the black another time, but if you’re looking for a top quality, extremely comfortable set of fatigue mats for your kitchen (or anywhere!), I would absolutely recommend this set! I’m really happy with these foam mats. I used them in my garage, and they’ve worked perfectly for creating a comfortable workout space. The interlocking pieces made installation quick and simple, and they fit together securely without shifting. The 34-inch thickness gives good support and makes workouts more comfortable, especially for bodyweight exercises and yoga. I needed some gym flooring for my home gym that is getting slowly put together. These went on sale and are the perfect fit. They ship wrapped and sealed well, have a slightly rubber smell that isnt going to overwhelm you while they air out, and feel great under your feet. The edges piece together nicely however you may have to lift the edge near the corner to lay 2 together so it does press the other down. Again this is not a big deal.
