This review is for the Serta Perfect Sleeper 14" Ultra Plush Hybrid Mattress. I noticed that a lot of reviews here mentioned different names. I am a side/back sleeper. I'd say probably about 50/50. So I need something soft but supportive. I currently own a hybrid pillow top mattress similar to this from the other 5 letter big brand that starts with an S. Which cost me double what I paid for this Serta and was ok at first, but lately has become very uncomfortable for some unknown reason despite the fact that the mattress is in like new condition, has no sags and is about 2 years old. I did a LOT of research while trying to find a good affordable mattress. This mattress has great reviews all across the board and mattress experts have great things to say about it so I had big hopes and was looking forward to a great night of sleep. I placed my order and the estimated delivery date was 2+ weeks out. However, it arrived about a week earlier. Wayfair uses a 3rd party delivery service that was great. It got delivered to my door thanks to COVID19 and I, 5'4" had to drag this beast to the bedroom all by myself. It fit perfectly on my existing platform bed. No smaller, no bigger. Just right. I could tell as soon as I laid on it that is was much firmer than I expected. I also noticed that tag says "Plush", not Ultra Plush. I called Wayfair worried that I might have received the wrong mattress and sent a picture of the tag as proof. I decided to give it a few days and see how I liked the mattress. After researching, I realized Serta has no Ultra Plush, so that's misleading advertising right there. If you go to their website you'll see. See attached picture. As the days passed the mattress has gotten a little softer. As recommend by experts, I crawl on top of the mattress whenever I remember to help "break it in". Although the mattress has become softer, I have yet to have a great night of sleep. More than likely this mattress is going back. I keep waking up with a sore back and in pain. Motion transfer is great. The mattress also has great support on the lower back area, which is amazing. It's the rest of my back that hurts. I really wanted to love this mattress but is not working for me. I decided to purchase my next mattress from Wayfair because of the 100 night sleep trial. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was in the market for a new mattress and came across this one. I had recently seen & heard things about the whole "mattress in a box" idea. So I decided to order it. With the claims and description, I was intrigued and hoping that it lived up to what it claimed to offer. The mattress was/is for my master bedroom for myself and my husband. I have severe fibromyalgia, degenerative disk disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, amongst other things. So I am ALWAYS in pain, ALWAYS. Poor sleep, along with a poor quality mattress (and/or the wrong type of mattress) only makes these issues worse. My husband has scoliosis (curved spine) which is another reason why our choice of mattress is extremely important. When it arrived, even though I knew it was a "mattress in a box", I was still surprised by the size of the box. I even had the thought that they sent the wrong item because I didn't understand how a queen size mattress could fit in a box of its shape and size. But lo and behold, it was indeed the right one. It was rolled tighty, covered in plastic. I appreciated that they included a plastic cutter that resembled some kinds of mail openers. Made it more convenient. Since it was rolled so tight, along with some of the reviews I have seen, I was worried about it being able to unfurl and open up into the appropriate shape and size. Luckily, within a day it was good to go. We have been using this mattress for a little over 3 months now, I believe. We both are pleasantly surprised by not only the quality but how much we like it and have benefitted from it. I get hot very easily and the cooling claim seems to be accurate. I dont get as hot on this mattress. There seems to be more breathability and airflow. The support isnt too firm or too soft, its perfect. It does actually relieve pressure and help support the right areas. I can also attest to it living up to its claim of minimizing my partners movements. I dont feel him moving or rolling over as much as I did with other mattresses. I also like that it has an antimicrobial cover to help prevent odor and bacteria. I feel like since we have been using this mattress, when I wake up I feel more rested, my body doesnt feel as tight, I'm able to fall asleep faster, more comfortable overall. My husband has been having a bit less discomfort with his back as well. So I am so glad that I took a chance on this mattress.
