My fault for not checking on the material of the rug. The picture makes it appear like cotton but it's made from jute. I probably wouldn't have ordered had I known that, but now that I received the rug and see it works as I wanted, I'll keep it. This is exactly what I needed for the in front of my den sliding glass door. The room already had a larger oval area rug filling most of the room.
