This self-watering planter has a been a huge timesaver with my mature lantana. It's easy to fill up, and it gives me peace of mind when we're out of town for a few days. The hole overflow hole was missing on mine, but there was a tiny divot where it should have been. It was easy enough to drill a hole there. The color and texture look "real" -- not plastic. If you prefer, you could also drill a hole at the bottom. This method would probably work best for outdoor use. I prefer using it indoors. It seems like a very lightweight plastic, but it is solidly made. It's easy to move around the house while filled with a plant and soil. It works perfectly for me and adds to the beauty of our home..
