I like this and I am small enough fit through the gate, but my elderly father has trouble with it and his caregiver has trouble fitting through it and opening and closing it. My dog is 15 pounds and can’t get out of it, so that is the best part. Perhaps my Dad’s caregiver will figure out how to open and close it. This is great. I was looking for a permanent solution to keep the dog from the front door and a way to separate the dogs from my niece when she visits. This is perfect fix. I do love the design of this gate. It’s so tall that my kitties can’t go over, around, through, or under. I even like the way it opens to let me go through, without having to negotiate a bottom rail to trip on. It locks securely and was easily assembled and carefully packed. It’s attractive and exceptionally useful. My only concerns: My doorway was not true. It apparently is a few millimeters wider near the top than bottom, so the center doesn’t meet the same way in the top as bottom. This is not the fault of the gate, so I did not deduct a star. My other concern is that there’s a lot of plastic parts. I wish all the components were made of metal. This is likely not what many people are using this skate for, but were doing it to help socialize our wonderful new dog with my two cats, one of them is not very dog savvy. This gate is PERFECT! It's tall enough to keep the dogs out of the cat area, but just short enough we can still close the door to the room (lever door knob). The adjustable cat door is great and I love that it raises up and down rather than swinging out. I love that this gate door swings both ways since our cat box and food are in our mudroom, which gets used frequently. Installation took all of 5 minutes and I love that both expanders were included, so we could get the perfect fit. The lever is also easy to use.
