It has just enough give in the padding on the very top so that you know you're not laying on " a board". I loved that I received the item within 24 hours. Unfortunately, upon receipt of the item, the bottom of the box was opened. Also the mattress is not cut true to size. Mattress is fine, but the frame has an issue i can not turn off the lights under the bed everytime we get out of bed at night the light turns off it does not matter that on the controller I clicked off.
