Shopped around for a replacement water heater. A lot of brands I'd not heard of. I was also surprised that many had warranties for 2-5 years. After researching and trying to find a better brand with greater longevity, I learned that Wayfair sold water heaters and they carried GE. I found the GE model I was looking with a 12 year warranty and ordered it. Excellent communication, reasonable shipping time frame (our old water heater was still limping along, so we were ok to wait but I ordered on the 15th and it arrived by the 22nd!) and shipping was free. We were able to remove the old water heater and install the new one without much trouble. I've ordered furniture and other household items in the past and have always been pleased.. Anonymous. After moving into our new home, we quickly discovered just how hard the water was. It was such a noticeable difference that we were actually driving back to our previous house just to shower while we researched a solution. Installing this water softener completely changed that. We've now been using it for well over a year, and I honestly can't imagine living without it. Our water feels much softer, soap lathers better, and our skin and hair no longer feel dry after showering. We've also noticed fewer hard water spots on our fixtures and dishes, and it's reassuring to know our plumbing and appliances are better protected from mineral buildup over time. The system has been dependable, easy to maintain, and has required very little attention beyond keeping the salt topped off. Once it's set up, it simply does its job in the background. If you live in an area with hard water, I highly recommend investing in a quality water softener. I have an old water tank on it's last legs. My reasoning for buying this GE tank was to prolong the life of my existing tank. I'll keep it in site of the old hot water tank.
