Manufacturing or shipping defect leads to easily marred surface. First one had highly visible chipped off area exposing the wood composite underlay of the desk table top. Even second replacement top has noticeable scratch that we will live with. Table top is a very heavy piece! The replacement process has left us with the choice of a difficult disposal ourselves or another appointment for pick up of the defective piece. So far so good - the tables were easy to put together and we love the adjustability of the legs. These are going to work very well at our youth center. This table is PERFECT for my preschool classroom. Heavy, but that means it's very solid. Pretty easy to put together -- some of the holes to attach the legs didn't line up, but with a drill, it was easy to put a screw through the wood. The legs are adjustable, but you need to remove two bolts per leg to do it. So learn from my mistakes and make sure to measure the height you actually want, because it's annoying to do twice..
