I put some wood glue on the dowels and slots for the stairs, just a little extra stability, I’m sure without it is fine. These are for my senior pup, she needs help getting in bed, I think these will be ok when she decides to use them. These seem sturdy enough, my son and I carried them to my room, pretty lightweight. I like these dogs ramps, and love that they came in a set of two. We have an older dog that has a hard time with the bottom step of our basement stairs, because it is higher than the other stairs. She also has a hard time getting started up the steps to our RV when camping and the ground is uneven. They were easy to put together and are lightweight and portable. This is great for what we bought it for. Our senior pup can’t jump up on the couch or even the lower outdoor loveseat on the porch. We use this out there. It is a covered porch so we keep it up when we are out there there and just put it right inside the door when we come in. We’ve also used trash bags to cover it and left it close to the door. I admit, I’m just lazy so I just put it inside the door. We also have 2 of the larger ramps that are also amazing. One he uses to get up on the inside couch, the other the bed. this is perfect! We have one of those high maintenance frenchie dogs that aren't supposed to jump off things because they have really sensitive backs and short legs. I was a bit skeptical because of the review rating and the reduced price. I took the chance and I’m glad I did! Saved myself 50 and it’s exactly what I was looking for my 14-year old senior Jindo dog. Shes about 35-lbs and I don’t see her weight to cause the ramp to fall apart. For small/light dogs, I think this would probably work well, but I had wanted a little assist for one of my medical fosters who was heavier (30 lbs).
