As expected one side of each piece is soft & silky, & the other side is rather scratchy. My solution was to turn the top sheet the opposite way you would expect so that the silky side touches your skin from both pieces. Works perfectly. And, I have two dogs that sleep with me & even after sleeping on them a couple of weeks there are zero problems or damage from their rough paws & nails. They look fabulous. I am nowhere near finished with my upstairs renovation so the pictures are in the works & don’t even show the whole room. But I’m pleased with the sheets & particularly at the price. UPDATE - well the bottom sheet has pilled up pretty badly BUT to be fair, my pups get all excited and rub their faces, etc, and their nails probably didn't help so not totally unexpected but my not satiny sheets do not do that.. I purchased two sets of these satin sheets. The blue is a vibrant color, and after two washings is not showing any fading, pilling, or snags. The material is thicker than some other brands I have bought. We use them on a king size bed but I got the California king. Mattresses bought today are higher/taller so deep pocket sheets are needed. The elastic on the fitted bottom sheet does not pull off. My only issue is the width of the sheets are still too short to tuck in. Yes, the material is slippery, with pillows and comforter sliding easily. They are cool to the touch when first getting into bed but I think with the mattress pad and comforter it traps some heat during the night.
