The base is nothing special you wouldn't find on any cheap chair. The upper seat is pretty nice, especially for the price. I'm a 6'1" 240lb man (athletic), and it isn't remotely "too small" as some have said, so adjust your expectations for your body type. The cushion is firm, but comfortable in my opinion. I just got it, haven't used it much, but it's great! I need to elevate my leg due to a knee surgery and I wanted to give this chair a try because of the foot rest. I thought the foot rest would maybe not go far enough to be able to extend my leg well, but it did! It was a great buy, especially for the price compared to other options. It was easy to put together and there are English instructions! The instructions to attach the armrests and the footrest were missing but it was easy to figure out by looking at the illustrations.
