Even though my son knew this bed was lower than others, he thought it would be fine. We ended up buying a 4” boxspring so his mattress was higher. The headboard feels shorter as well. The large chenille courderoy fabric is soft but doesn’t look high end. My teen likes it but I don’t love it. My son said he felt like he was sinking through the slats - so the boxspring fixed that. This is a decent bed frame. I'm not sure if it would hold up very long for an average size adult but works very well for my four year old. I was looking for a bed frame that didn't have metal or hard edges, the whole frame is upholstered. It was relatively easy to put together other than the actual headboard pieces. The screw holes were slightly off I think but ultimately I was able to get it built within a reasonable amount of time. All pieces were labeled very clearly and directions were also clear.
