We were initially going o to purchase 2 twin beds to fit into our 2nd bedroom, but happened upon this bunk bed. I have never made a big furniture purchase from Wayfair, so I was a bit leery about buying something I hadn't seen in person. What a great buy! The wood was solidly made, and the color was flawless. My husband could not stop commenting on the quality of the wood, and how well organized the parts and directions were. It took a couple of hours to put everything together, but it truly was a great purchase. The slats were included, so all we needed to add were the mattresses. Excellent quality, super sturdy and very easy to assemble!!! My boys ages 11 and 9 helped me (their mom) build it in just a few hours! It’s sturdy enough that I am able to lay in the top bunk with my 11yr old and it holds up great, my husband is 300lb and lays on the bottom bunk with our 9yr old with no issues! Very solid! And we love the pull out trundle twin size bed for when they have their cousins or friends over! We currently have our nugget play couch on the trundle rather than a mattress, but will be getting a mattress for it. The only complaint I have is that it came with absolutely no extra hardware incase a piece is broken or gets lost during set up, not a single extra bolt, screw or wooden dowel, but otherwise we are very happy with this purchase!!. Would have been 5 stars if things were labeled a little better. Two pieces were labeled wrong which alone took almost 10-15 minutes for me to figure out and the directions were missing numbers for which pieces to use. Other than that it took about 3 hours to build by myself. It probably would’ve gone quicker with 2 people. An excellently crafted piece of craftsmanship. If you have a child who might be hesitant of the top bunk due to a past experience of it feeling shaky, have no fear. This is a well manufactured product, all pieces connected perfectly or nearly perfect needing no additional work to get them to fit. The ladder is mounted top and bottom to the framing adding additional structural integrity. The mattress slats! While other brands try to work with less, this unit provides approx. 14 top and 14 bottom alleviating any chance or concern of sagging or mattress rippling—a virtual box spring of sorts. There is virtually no shake at all in the structure after it is built. Also, the pictures lack clarity of the under-storage space; flat long 2'x4' totes fit 3-4, side-by-side, and with nearly enough room to stack another on top! If you're looking for that extra space, you will have it (great for extra blankets or seasonal clothing storage). Beautiful! I did pay for assembly and one person came and assembled it by himself but it took a couple hours and I had to help lift the top bunk up. It’s pretty sturdy. Very nice piece for the price.
