Beautiful solid wood bookshelf, it height was the perfect height for my place and just look gorgeous with the book and decorations. The only reason I don’t give 5 stars is that some pieces were scratched and the staining scratches easily, still would recommend buying this, it’s wood so if you take care of it would last forever. Generally a solid bookshelf for the price. The wood style finish is reasonably well done, the decorative side panels add interest without being excessively gaudy, and the construction overall is sturdy and solid. Adjustable shelf height would have been nice, but all shelves here are fixed. We are using this as a shoe cabinet. Wayfair calls it a bookshelf, but I don’t think I would ever recommend it for books — the shelves are not adjustable and are way too short for books. They are perfect for our shoes, though! Even our boots fit nicely on the taller shelves. I am giving four stars because the construction of the doors, though cute, is not very sturdy at all. If you have active pets or kids I think they’re likely to break easily. Hopefully ours hold up since it’s in an out of the way location in our home, but only time will tell.
